This is a good choice for a hotel, with fresh, renovated rooms. The room design was welcoming, however the thermostat would not allow running below 22 Celsius in winter. This is far too hot to sleep in and there was no alternative to cool the room apart from ‘open the window’. This really let the experience down. Otherwise, the room was clean. There were no mugs provided for tea, only smaller coffee mugs, and the bathroom had controls for speakers that are no longer installed. Staff were accommodating and friendly throughout.

business hotel, not tourist hotel

While we had a nice stay, I think this hotel is better suited to convention and business travelers than for tourists. It’s a 15 minute walk to Potsdamer Platz and subway, other sites further distance. You can get hotels for similar price that are closer to the main sites or even better, closer to public transportation. Housekeeping could improve as we had to contact front desk for amenities. The spa area needed cleaning, towels were piled on most pool chairs and steam room inoperable. Most of the lockers in men’s dressing area had broken locks. It would not take much effort to Itis those problems though. The two bars had good atmosphere. We liked the art deco design. There were many business meetings using the convention space and I understand why. The hotel is perfectly suited for conventions and business travel, not for simple tourists and that goes for families, couples, and singles. Tourists look elsewhere but if your company needs a meeting space in Berlin you won’t find much better than this.

Great value as a Platinum

The previous year I somehow got upgraded to the presidential suite as a platinum member but this year as a titanium member I only got a club level upgrade. Can't always win 'em all since they said they were fully booked for the weekend. Breakfast compared to last year did not have the waffle station which I really liked from the year prior. I felt like the made to order food was only available if you asked the staff for help so the breakfast offering seems to have degraded a bit compared to when I stayed last year. Perhaps it's because they're doing some sort of renovations? The offerings of the executive lounge continued to be exceptional; the pricing and value for this hotel as a platinum is great even though the hotel is not very central.

A disappointing stay

A mediocre renovation of a former entry level Marriott property. Housekeeping a major disappointment - I was left without bath ameneties and needed to wait for one and a half hours before someone bothered to bring up towels. Concierge available on certain days only (?!) and in stead of calling for reservation at some places, reception handed me some telehone numbers and suggested that I deal with it myself.

Beautiful hotel and very strategically located. The ambience is nice,quite and peaceful. Nice restaurants and grand lobby gives a welcoming feeling. Staff is quite cheerful and happy to help. Special mention front desk.
